Hundreds flock to Emporium to snap-up ice rink tickets

Only two weeks after announcing it would host an open-air ice rink this winter, Beckworth Emporium has been inundated with would-be skaters desperate to get their hands on rink tickets.

Some sessions have already sold out completely as more than 800 people inundate the Mears Ashby-based Emporium with ticket bookings.

Ice SkatersThe stunning rink will open to the public from Thursday (November 26th), forming the centrepiece of the Emporium’s festive offering - complete with dramatic evening music and light shows.

Until January, Beckworth will be a dazzling haven of twinkling lights, Christmas trees, gifts and delicious festive food. Customers of all ages have bought tickets to enjoy the ultimate open-air skating experience in the idyllic setting of the Emporium courtyard.

Beckworth Emporium owner, David Brown, said: “We’re overwhelmed with the immediate success of the ice rink. Skating is a great way for people of all ages to get in the Christmas spirit, and we’re all very excited about welcoming our first skaters onto the ice next week.”

Beckworth is providing top-quality skates, an indoor skate exchange area, indoor and outdoor viewing areas, push-along aides for small children and festive rink-side refreshments.

The ice rink will be open daily until January 10th*. The 45-minute sessions will run hourly throughout the days and can be booked in advance via the website or by calling 01604 810641.
